MARK K. CLARE, M.A., M.S.

 

 

Recognized as a results-driven internal consultant, Mark Clare has worked closely with line managers and executives to measurably improve organizational performance in healthcare and financial services for the last 25 years. 

 

Mark has used the latest technologies and management innovations to move key quality and financial metrics. He is able to spot emerging issues, develop options and proposals and then sell and implement the proposals.  Mark has mastered a range of methods including process re-engineering, knowledge management, human-centric design and Lean Six Sigma. He is also skilled in strategic planning, intellectual property management and IT implementations.

 

Mark Clare has played a significant role in several major business transformation efforts.  He was a member of the design and implementation team responsible for the $100M re-engineering of Lincoln Life Insurance.  Mark was a major contributor to the core competency and strategic architecture teams that were instrumental in a multi-year transformation that redefined how the Lincoln Financial Group competes in the 21st century.  Most recently, he was a member of the executive team responsible for planning and implementation oversite of Parkview Health’s new $500M regional medical center.

 

 As an innovator, Mark has developed new frameworks that not only produced results for internal clients but have generated publications, patent applications and in some instances been adopted by other organizations.  Examples of these frameworks include the knowledge-value equation for developing knowledge management solutions and cognitive design as product and service innovation technique.

 

Mark is also an accomplished educator. He holds an adjunct faculty position in Northwestern University’s Masters Program in Learning and Organization Change. Mr. Clare was a highly-rated instructor in the American Management Association’s Top 40 Train the Trainer’s program.  Most recently, he co-developed an online course in IT and knowledge management for the American College of Physician Executives.

 

Mark Clare holds a bachelor’s in physics from Ball State University, where he also earned Masters degrees in physics and philosophy. As a fellow at the University of Minnesota he completed studies in cognitive science and artificial intelligence. Mark has completed many continuous education programs including the Ernst & Young Organizational Change Management Certificate and the training required for a Six Sigma Black Belt.
